Asad Alib Trading Co. a innovater in the Indian Textile
Industry was established in 2013. Our forefather started
weaving on the loom in the early 1970s. He started weaving in
his home and before he knew it, the business started to
flourish into a family tradition. Our uncompromised quality
and unparalleled woven heritage never wavered despite the
challenging business environment of the 1980’s in India.
Dedication and innovative woven techniques have proven to
last the test of time. In 2013 this multi generational family
company became ASAD ALIB TRADING CO.
ASAD ALIB TRADING CO.s’ 50 year history, has continued
to maintain the integrity of our heritage and craft. Our
innovative, yet traditional weaving legacy has continued to
grow our business into a modern day corporation. Our
artisans are essential to our business. We support our
weavers, their families and our community as we believe it is
our responsibility to provide for our people. We continue to
keep the craft active by passing down the skills to anyone who
wants to learn. Our heritage continues to live on through our
family, craftsman, and artisanal weavers. With their
dedication to tradition and innovation, we move forward to
share our love of rugs with the world.

Timeline

BEFORE 1970

Late Mr. Haji Abdul Qayyum,

because of his fascinating skills and talent, used to do fine jobs of carving for a British company. His works were truly a piece of brilliant craftsmanship and there is no doubt that the legacy of his tremendous dedication to providing customers with the best product carried on for more than decades.

1970

A few years later,

he finally commenced his own business of carpet and rug manufacturing, where he crafted ravishing Aubusson carpets along with other exquisite pieces of art like Persian rugs as well.

1985

Little more than a decade later,

durries were also introduced to the thriving business. They just increased the number of alluring and marvellous products in the cluster. And thus, giving the customers yet another choice to give their house a magnificent look.

1990

A few more years passed,

and Mr. Abdul Qayyum’s son joined the business giving it yet another excellent brain and the will to work hard for the contentment of the customers. An Indo-Tibetan factory was also established and weaving was at its peak now.

2001

Another decade later,

was probably a life-changing moment for us. The establishment of an in-house centre of handloom was a massive change as it was the beginning of what we would pursue and improve in the time of another decade.

2013

A legendary moment occurred a decade later.

A dream took form when the Asad Alib Trading company was formed. The business and the manufacture were flourishing. Work and trades were about to evolve to great heights.

Today

Abdul Qayyum’s grandson,

Asad Ajaz joined the company in the year 2019 and thus, our business went to the skies. Various different items were introduced to the company like hand-knotted, Shaggy, hand-tufted, and hand-woven. Today, we have an ocean of options to choose from, including brilliant handicrafts and new products like flatweave and jacquard as well. None of them hold any place for disappointment.
